There’s not quite a love like that of your best friend! That’s why for this Galentine’s Day we took some time to step out into San Francisco for a few sweet classics in celebrating the timeless bond of female friendship. We couldn’t think of a more lovely spot than St. Francis Fountain in the city’s Mission District, ready to serve up the finest and most memorable soda delights.
Opening in 1918, this mainstay of classic San Francisco soda shops sits quietly on the corner of 24th and York Street, complete with retro candy at the counters and their original telephone booth in pristine condition, even if the phone line’s been down for some twenty years. Take a seat at the counter and find yourself having a tough time deciding between chocolate malt or a cherry shake, but at least there’s your besties near by to help you make the best decision to round out a splendid day in each others’ company.

Friendship is finding the peeps who’ll share the banana split with you.
