With the launch of Disney+, us gals now have access to some of Disney’s classics! Let’s open the vault with my personal top six vintage favorites.

The Mickey Mouse Club (1955)

The original lineup aired on ABC immediately following American bandstand! Led by Jimmie Dodd, this variety show often encouraged its young viewers to make the right choices. So, put on your mouse ears and follow the mouseketeers on a singing and dancing adventure back to 1955.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Snow white is the beautiful and innocent step daughter of an evil queen. Jealous of her beauty, she orders her murder only to discover that she is alive and well living in a cottage with seven colorful mining dwarfs. One bite of a poison apple later, snow white is in a death like sleep that can only be broken from a kiss by prince charming.

The Parent Trap (1961)

Disney darling Hayley Mills stars as identical twin sisters separated by their parent’s divorce. They are reunited years later at summer camp. The two girls come up with a plan to switch places and bring their parents back together. The only thing standing in their way is their dad’s new fiancé!

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)

In San Francisco the reports of a giant sea monster attacking ships is sweeping the sea board. A stranded professor and his assistant are invited on an expedition to search for the mysterious creature. With their trusty harpooner they set sail. Only to discover that the horrid monster is actually a submarine run by a Brillant but mad Captain Nemo.

The Sign of Zorro (1958)

Diego is home from school abroad only to find his people under the oppression of Captain Monasterio. In an effort to defend his people, Diego creates Zorro. He’s an aristocrat by day and a swashbuckler by night. With his steed by his side he sets out to free the people of Mexican California.

Swiss Family Robinson (1960)

The Robinson family set off to escape Napoleons rein and begin a new start. When their ship becomes damaged the family is forced to take refuge on a deserted island. Learning to adapt to their new life on the island, the Robinsons encounter pirates, unknown beast, and still create an epic treehouse! But as time goes on the real question is when and if they will ever return to civilization.
