A Sweet Wreath for Instant Southern Hospitality

Photos by Marjorie Magazine

A simple wreath is anything but. Hung proudly on front doors or across fences and even displayed at the dinner table for a centerpiece, they symbolize a celebration of sorts. In the winter, there’s lush holly and their berries for the holidays; in the warmer weather, expect fresh blooms of bluebell and daisies, with sprigs of statice or lavender. A simple wreath is a symphony of the season’s finest natural beauties on full display in your home, to make it feel just that and more when the world is at its loveliest.

That everlasting feeling of warmth and welcome can be captured in an artificial wreath that you can look forward to taking out for display every season. Whether you prefer classic Victorian flowers or might embrace the modern addition of eucalyptus or artichoke, creating a lasting wreath only takes a few dabs of hot glue and your favorite arrangement all on one dried grapevine form. The best part is, this medley of supplies are easily found at a local dollar store– the total cost of this project was wonderfully under $7!

Flower Wreath Supplies

  • Plug in hot glue gun and let it warm for 5-10 min
  • Remove artificial flowers from the plastic stems and comb out dried Spanish moss
  • Start gluing Spanish moss around the top of the grapevine form.
  • Choose where on your grapevine form the places you want to arrange your flowers. Start then by applying hot glue to spots on form and stick on individual flowers as needed.

  • Take a look at the wreath and fill in sparse areas with extra Spanish moss.
  • Let whole wreath dry for 20 minutes. Add any extra decor or top off the wreath with a beautiful bow at its top! Lastly, let it grace your front door or over your bed to welcome in the warm season!
